India Joins Global 6G Network Initiative
India has joined the United States and 24 other countries in an international initiative to shape the development and deployment of next-generation 6G telecommunications networks. This collaboration aims to ensure that future communication networks reflect shared security interests, strengthen technological competitiveness, and promote innovation in 6G. India's participation aligns with its expanding cooperation with the US in critical and emerging technologies like semiconductors, Artificial Intelligence, and data centers.

NITI Aayog Launches PACT for Electric Freight Revolution
NITI Aayog has launched the Platform for Aggregating Clean Transport (PACT) at the 5th e-FAST India Summit 2026 to accelerate India's electric freight revolution. PACT aims to aggregate demand for electric freight vehicles and connect various stakeholders like fleet operators, manufacturers, financiers, and charging providers. This initiative focuses on deploying electric medium- and heavy-duty trucks along identified freight corridors to promote sustainable freight transport.

नीति आयोग ने भारत की इलेक्ट्रिक फ्रेट क्रांति को गति देने के लिए 5वें ई-फास्ट इंडिया शिखर सम्मेलन 2026 में प्लेटफॉर्म फॉर एग्रीगेटिंग क्लीन ट्रांसपोर्ट (PACT) लॉन्च किया है. PACT का उद्देश्य इलेक्ट्रिक फ्रेट वाहनों की मांग को एक साथ लाना और फ्लीट ऑपरेटरों, निर्माताओं, फाइनेंसरों और चार्जिंग प्रदाताओं जैसे विभिन्न हितधारकों को जोड़ना है. यह पहल स्थायी फ्रेट परिवहन को बढ़ावा देने के लिए चिह्नित फ्रेट गलियारों के साथ इलेक्ट्रिक मध्यम और भारी-शुल्क वाले ट्रकों को तैनात करने पर केंद्रित है.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh highlighted India's robust economic growth, stating that the country's economy has doubled in size over the last 10-12 years, with a GDP growth rate of approximately 7.8% in Q1 FY27 (April-June 2026).. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also emphasized that India's 7.8% growth in a challenging global environment, marked by conflicts and supply chain pressures, offers "fresh hope" to the world.. ISRO's New Space Model: Expanding Private Participation
ISRO has clarified that it is not undergoing privatization but is expanding private sector participation in routine space activities, allowing private firms and PSUs to manufacture operational launch vehicles and satellites.
