India to Release AI Regulation Consultation Paper
Union Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that India will release a consultation paper on AI regulation within one month. This proposed techno-legal framework aims to address AI safety, cybersecurity, deepfakes, psychological harms, and inclusivity, promoting human-centric AI development. The government also plans to develop indigenous graphics processing units (GPUs) to support AI inference.

12th National Maritime Search & Rescue Exercise (SAREX-2026) Concludes
The 12th National Maritime Search & Rescue Exercise (SAREX-2026), organized by the Indian Coast Guard (ICG), concluded off the Paradip coast, Odisha. The exercise involved 32 international observers from 30 countries and simulated a Mass Rescue Operation (MRO) to enhance multi-agency and international cooperation for maritime search and rescue.
