India Launches TAPAS-1, First Private Thermal-Imaging Satellite Payload
Ahmedabad-based spacetech startup Satleo Labs launched TAPAS-1 (Thermal Access Platform for Analytics & Solutions), India's first commercial private thermal-imaging nanosatellite payload. Launched aboard SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket, TAPAS-1 will act as an orbital thermometer for Earth, providing high-resolution thermal intelligence for commercial, civic, and defense applications such as urban heat island mapping, precision agriculture, and wildfire tracking.
