India and New Zealand Elevate Ties to Strategic Partnership
Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluded his three-nation tour with a historic visit to New Zealand, the first by an Indian Prime Minister in 40 years. During his talks with New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon in Auckland, the two nations elevated their bilateral ties to a Strategic Partnership. They also set a target to double their annual bilateral trade in goods and services to ₹35,000 crore by 2030.

INS Mahendragiri Commissioned into Indian Navy
The Indian Navy commissioned INS Mahendragiri (F38), its sixth indigenous Project 17A stealth frigate, in Visakhapatnam. The warship was designed by the Indian Navy's Warship Design Bureau (WDB) and built by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL), Mumbai. This commissioning marks a significant advancement in India's self-reliance in naval defence technology.

Monsoon Flooding and Landslides Across India
Torrential monsoon rains have caused widespread flooding and landslides across several regions of India, including Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir. Boat Capsizes Off Vietnam, Indian Tourists Among Casualties
At least 15 people, including Indian tourists, have died after a boat capsized near an island off Vietnam's Phu Quoc on Saturday. The vessel was carrying 32 Indian tourists and four crew members when it overturned about 400 meters off Hon May Rut Ngoai. Rescue efforts are underway, and three tourists from Andhra Pradesh are currently hospitalized.
